April 22 is International Earth Day.
Earth Day is one of the largest environmental events in the world, with thousands of organizations from more than two hundred countries and millions of volunteers participating each year.Earth Day was first celebrated in 1970, when famous American environmentalist Senator Gaylord Nelson called on 20 million Americans to protect the Earth.
Georgia has been celebrating Earth Day since 1990 with various environmental events.
